The day begins in San Juan Capistrano with a southbound drive that gradually transitions from Orange County’s coastline into the broader landscape of San Diego. As the city comes into view, the experience opens with elevated perspectives that set the tone for the day ahead.
Early in the tour, a stop at Mount Soledad offers sweeping views of the coastline, surrounding neighborhoods, and the Pacific stretching beyond. From there, the route moves into La Jolla, where rugged shoreline, ocean paths, and local wildlife create one of the most recognizable coastal environments in Southern California.
The experience then shifts into the historic core of the city at Old Town San Diego. Here, preserved buildings and open plazas reflect the region’s early cultural influences, offering a contrast to the coastal portion of the day.
Midday brings time along the waterfront at Seaport Village, where guests can explore shops, take in harbor views, and enjoy a relaxed lunch break. The route then continues through the heart of the city, passing through downtown districts and crossing into Coronado for a different perspective of the bay.
At Hotel del Coronado, the atmosphere shifts again, combining beachfront scenery with one of the region’s most iconic historic landmarks. The final portion of the day moves inland to Balboa Park, where architecture, gardens, and open spaces provide a fitting close to the experience before returning north.
