San Diego Tour Highlights:

  • Chevron down La Jolla
  • La Jolla is a smart seaside area, known for its rugged coastline. Trails wind past pine trees and sandstone canyons in Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, while the 2 courses at world-renowned Torrey Pines Golf Course sit atop sea cliffs. La Jolla Cove has sweeping ocean views, and the Shell Beach tide pools are home to anemones and crabs. Posh boutiques and waterfront restaurants dot walkable La Jolla Village.

  • Chevron down Old Town
  • Old Town is the oldest settled area in San Diego and is the site of the first European settlement in present-day California. It contains Old Town San Diego State Historic Park and Presidio Park, both of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

  • Chevron down Embarcadero
  • The Embarcadero is a busy cruise-ship hub, known for seafood and souvenir shops at Seaport Village. The Headquarters, an old police command post, is now home to chic eateries and boutiques. Nearby, flight simulators, restored planes and life-at-sea exhibits are the draws at the USS Midway Museum, a former naval aircraft carrier. Waterfront Park and the 2 Embarcadero Marina parks have grassy lawns and ocean views.

  • Chevron down Gaslamp Quarter
  • The Gaslamp Quarter is a lively downtown neighborhood, known for its nightlife. Clubs, dive bars and cocktail lounges draw a young crowd, while the Spreckels and Balboa theaters have diverse programs of music, comedy and drama. There’s a mix of chain and independent restaurants in the area, with many global options. Horton Plaza Park has grassy lawns, ice cream and coffee vendors, and an interactive fountain.

  • Chevron down Coronado Island
  • Coronado is a California resort city on a peninsula in San Diego Bay. It’s known for the grand Victorian Hotel del Coronado, which opened in 1888. Across from the hotel, the wide, flat Coronado Beach draws surfers and sunbathers. Its western stretch includes the leash-free Coronado Dog Beach. The Coronado Ferry Landing has shops, restaurants and a small beach. Nearby, Centennial Park offers San Diego skyline views.

  • Chevron down Balboa Park
  • Balboa Park is a 1,200-acre urban cultural park in San Diego, California, United States. In addition to open space areas, natural vegetation zones, green belts, gardens, and walking paths, it contains museums, several theaters, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo.

  • Chevron down Little Italy
  • Little Italy is a chic, pedestrian-friendly neighborhood, packed with trendy cocktail bars, brewpubs and restaurants with bustling patios. Upscale clothing boutiques, indie music venues and quaint piazzas dot the area, while the weekly Little Italy Mercato Farmers’ Market draws crowds to its mix of produce, gourmet food and craft stalls. The green lawns of Waterfront Park have fountains, and offer views of the bay.

Orange County/PCH Tour + Whale Watching

Excellent experience and tour! Michael was our guide and he had a vast knowledge of Orange County and the history. We visited many places around Orange Country and got to experience "can't miss" sights. This is a great option for anyone who wants to see Orange Country and explore. I felt as if I learned and saw so much.

Best time at the Temecula Wine Tour!

We took the Temecula Wine tour, starting off with lunch a Robert Rinzoni winey, before getting to the winery we drove through old town Temecula and stopped to see some long horn bulls and water buffalo. The Best Coast Tours team made us feel comfortable and showed us a great time. I have been going to Temecula for years, and this was a fun, new side of the area I hadn't seen.

Best Coach Tour of LA!

Tour was 9-6; Saw everything you could wish to see - Beverly Hills, Hollywood sign, Farmers Market, Rodeo Drive etc. The driver was knowledgable. It was a great value. We never would have been able to see so much, navigate the highways and directions. It was an excellent experience.

California dreamin'

Joe was very knowledgeable and even personalized the tour a little. We had a smashing day visiting Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove, Marina Del Rey and others all of which enhanced our holiday no end. On the way back, Joe was flexible enough to take us to a lovely spot to spend the evening at Newport Beach rather than a return to our hotel.

Orange County Beach Tour/LA Tour

We toured both LA and Orange County beaches with Best Coast Tours last week. Joe and Michael are outstanding hosts providing historical information regarding the sites along with just the right mix of pop culture. Not only are the extremely knowledgeable about the area, they are fun! We are so glad to have picked Best Coast Tours to introduce us to California.
