A Closer Look : Callaway Winery

a large building

Callaway Winery in Temecula is one of our favorite places to visit on our wine tour. The views are spectacular, the wine is amazing, and we also get a guided tour of their production facility. If you haven’t had a chance to visit them yet, here are a few reasons why this winery so special!

Callaway Winery was f0unded by Ely Callaway, who later founded Callaway Golf. Mr. Callaway was one of the first to discover the perfect wine-growing climate of the Temecula Valley. After his discovery, he said goodbye to his job in clothing manufacturing and started planting vines.

The vineyard currently sits on 20 acres of land and focuses on the quality of the wine over the number of cases it produces – something you can definitely tell with each sip. Stunning views of the valley can be seen from every inch of the property, including their own Meritage Restaurant. The Meritage offers made from scratch, farm-to-table meals and pairs each meal with one of their award-winning wines. Many of the ingredients are grown on-site in their greenhouse – doesn’t get any fresher than that!

Callaway Winery offers something for everyone – a wine club for long term fans, a gift shop for daily visitors, and a wedding venue for your special day. No matter the reason for the visit, it’s guaranteed to be a memorable day!

We hope you consider spending a day at Callaway or riding along with us for a wine tour! Happy Tasting!
